Still waiting...

So as I predicted Vee went ahead and had her baby before me (she was due June20th)! A little girl named Ella- she looks adorable from her pics. Congrats Vee and Greg!

So we had our apt Tues- not much going on. In happy news I did have some bloody show and apparently lost my mucous plug so as signs of early labor go I guess that's something! I am a whopping fingertip dilated and only 25% effaced and the baby's head has not dropped so we have a little ways to go! The NST looked good though and amniotic fluid levels were fine so we're set till Friday when we have another NST scheduled. If no baby by monday we are scheduled to be induced, which I am not really looking forward to so hopefully labor will begin on it's own before then. I'm hopeful that will happen as I have been having mild contractions on and off all day- now they just need to pick up so we can get this show on the road!

Trip to L&D

I was hoping our next trip to L&D would be because I was in labor but NO... I was having a momentary freak out b/c I hadn't felt the baby move in 24 hours. Anway Fri night at the drive in the baby was flip flopping all over the place and then nothing all day Sat and Sun morning, plus I threw up several times Fri and Sat nights, so I called the Dr and they had us come in to be checked yesterday afternoon. Of course everything was fine and as soon as they put the toco on the baby started to move. As Frank's mother said we're losing control already, it's not a good sign! So anyway the waiting game continues. Tomorrow we go in for our first post-date appointment and have another NST, an U/S to check amniotic fluid levels and then a check-up with the midwife. I'm thinking it may be time to start at least thinking about induction but we'll see what my cervix is doing! It's a beautiful Memorial Day here so Frank and I are enjoying the fine weather and playing hobby farmers.

The Beginning

Me at 40 weeks and on my 30th Birthday! (Holy Cow do I look puffy!!!!!)

So as many of my friends have created blogs for themselves and their growing families I have finally decided to jump on the bandwagon. Besides that way it will make it easier and faster to share our stories and photos as hopefully very soon life will becoming a lot more hectic around here!

I've been at home on modified bedrest since 37 weeks b/c I developed mild pre-eccamplsia so I am going a little stir crazy. Thank goodness I didn't have to be on complete bedrest or Frank would be admitting me to Bedlam! Had a Dr appoint and NST (non-stress test) on Thurs which went well- although the baby decided to take a nap so we were there a little longer than we planned. But I had only trace proteinuria and for the first time in weeks my BP was back in the normal range- whoo hoo! And instead of gaining 10 lbs a week, which has been the pattern, I actually lost a little weight! My hands, feet and face look a little like water balloons but I guess that is the price we pay.
So as of today I am 40 weeks and 6 days pregnant. No the baby has not dropped and I am not having any tweaks, twinges, or other signs or symptoms of labor. Apparently our child is going to be taking after his/her mother and be VERY stubborn.

Last night we went to the drive-in. So much fun although the baby decides he/she wanted to join in and was flip flopping all over the place! My belly was waving at me. As uncomfortable as it is to have your insides kicked, poked, and prodded by an eight lb baby it is reassuring to know that he/she is still securely tucked away. Anyway we saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Iron Man. I have to admit I was dissapointed by Indy- not up to par... but I really liked Iron Man. Although it was totally set upf or a sequel which kind of annoys me. It is too difficult to make a good stand alone movie for once! I guess not when you base it on a comic book...

Well I am off to clean up after our dogs who decided it would be a fabulous idea to bring a pile of bark into the den and chew it all up! Lucky me...
