The Beginning

Me at 40 weeks and on my 30th Birthday! (Holy Cow do I look puffy!!!!!)

So as many of my friends have created blogs for themselves and their growing families I have finally decided to jump on the bandwagon. Besides that way it will make it easier and faster to share our stories and photos as hopefully very soon life will becoming a lot more hectic around here!

I've been at home on modified bedrest since 37 weeks b/c I developed mild pre-eccamplsia so I am going a little stir crazy. Thank goodness I didn't have to be on complete bedrest or Frank would be admitting me to Bedlam! Had a Dr appoint and NST (non-stress test) on Thurs which went well- although the baby decided to take a nap so we were there a little longer than we planned. But I had only trace proteinuria and for the first time in weeks my BP was back in the normal range- whoo hoo! And instead of gaining 10 lbs a week, which has been the pattern, I actually lost a little weight! My hands, feet and face look a little like water balloons but I guess that is the price we pay.
So as of today I am 40 weeks and 6 days pregnant. No the baby has not dropped and I am not having any tweaks, twinges, or other signs or symptoms of labor. Apparently our child is going to be taking after his/her mother and be VERY stubborn.

Last night we went to the drive-in. So much fun although the baby decides he/she wanted to join in and was flip flopping all over the place! My belly was waving at me. As uncomfortable as it is to have your insides kicked, poked, and prodded by an eight lb baby it is reassuring to know that he/she is still securely tucked away. Anyway we saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Iron Man. I have to admit I was dissapointed by Indy- not up to par... but I really liked Iron Man. Although it was totally set upf or a sequel which kind of annoys me. It is too difficult to make a good stand alone movie for once! I guess not when you base it on a comic book...

Well I am off to clean up after our dogs who decided it would be a fabulous idea to bring a pile of bark into the den and chew it all up! Lucky me...

Hey Whitney, Frank, and Linnenbringer-to-be!

Bon courage, chérie! Great idea for the blog; I've been really wondering if you'd had the baby. Happy birthday et bonne chance pour la suite! Laurent and I also share your views about Indiana Jones, though I think you'd have enjoyed the Russian accent in French!

Bisous,
Diane

Hi, Whitney & Co!

A blog is such a great way to stay in touch without driving yourself crazy trying to keep track of who knows what information at any given point. As you say, things are about to get very busy.

Hope Little Whatsit puts in an appearance soon so you can get out and about more.

Best wishes to you and Frank as you await the new arrival. I'm glad you're taking such good care of yourself.

All Blessings,

Mary Jo
